The Aerodynamics sub-team is responsible for designing and developing our car’s aerodynamic package. The aerodynamics engineers perform extensive simulations and testing of alternatives in order to create an efficient aerodynamic package that produces high downforce and low drag levels, achieving an ideal air flow distribution. This package includes the rear wing, the front wing, the diffuser, the sidepods, the nose and the front suspension cover and is crucial for maintaining the car’s stability and traction at high speeds. Every component of the aerodynamic package must comply with Formula Student regulations, therefore there are some important limitations to be taken in mind throughout the designing and manufacturing process.
