The Chassis & Ergonomics sub-team is responsible for designing and producing one of the most integral parts of our race car; the chassis. In addition, this sub-team also designs the car’s seat, head restraint and belts, which enhance the driver’s comfort and safety. When designing the chassis, the goal is to achieve the best possible combination of maximum torsional stiffness and minimum weight that meets the competition’s safety standards. The chassis in the base on which every other component of the car will be mounted on, and therefore is crucial for the vehicle’s success. The sub-team has experience in creating both tubular steel and monocoque aluminum frames.
